Seagull diner

Today was the eleventh day since the great earthquake. Yesterday’s news that a grandmother and a grandchild were safely rescued for the first time in nine days(!) made us really happy.

After the earthquake, I have watched only the TV programs related to the earthquake, but tonight I watched a movie that my friend recommended to me instead. It was a Japanese movie called “Seagull diner”. I really liked it. The story is set in Finland and passes quietly. The heroine is the owner of “Seagull diner” and her daily life changes when she meets two Japanese women. I liked the story, the actresses’ masterly performances and the beautiful images, and it was also helpful to me in setting lighting or selecting tableware, pictures, coloring, etc. I’m easily influenced, so I moved my lamp from on the shelf to on the floor immediately and decided to buy one coffee cup or dish every month. Of course, I’m going to get Iittala’s tableware that is typical of Scandinavia.
Well, I’m going to watch it again. Now I really want to adopt the ideas I get from the movie when redesigning my room.
