Continued from the last blog.
I gradually came around to changing our butsudan, the family Buddhist altar, to a new one. I think it is the best idea!
I had a talk with my sister about the subject. She said that I would be able to do what I like, but I felt she wanted to keep it at the bottom. Umm, I had already started to choose a new butsudan, but I was right back where I started.
Yesterday morning I started reviewing my plan thoroughly and spent all day on it. I used CAD software and planned the room on the assumption that there is a big butsudan in the room. I tried to put some furniture here and there on the plan, then amazingly a good plan resulted which was very different from what I had originally had in mind. By combining the butsudan with bookshelves the same color as the butsudan, the big butsudan doesn't stand out so much. Bingo! Let’s go with this plan!
This time, I’m going to lay a light brown carpet on the tatami, so I hope that the Japanese room seems to be connected with the wooden-floored room. I ordered the carpet straightaway.
I’m looking forward to the completion of the remodeled room.
This blue print is very professional indeed.
返信削除Besides, you've already ordered the carpet !
I'm very happy that you keep the altar for good, because your mom doesn't like moving.
Thank you for your considerate comment.
返信削除I'm happy that it worked out well.
Please come and have a cup of coffee or something when the remodeling is finished!
Remodeling is really fun.
返信削除How to use colors is very difficult for me.
My favorite TV show is divine design. If you go
to the web site, you can see the before and after.
I like remodeling, too.
返信削除I think that coloring and lighting are very important to make a cozy space.
By the way, what's the title of your favorite TV show?

返信削除That's Divine Design, and you can see only about house decorating or design on this page. In America, we could see all about the housing matters on this channel,HGTV. I'm sure you will like it.
By the way, I'm thinking if I can afford the Laura Ashley's small cofee table with many drawers (that's not small, though). That one
fascinates me!
Oh, sorry, I misunderstood!
返信削除I went to the web site, but I couldn't see the video contents...
But I enjoyed myself looking their pictures. It's informative.
The Laura Ashley's coffee table is charming and like you! I like a cabriole leg.
